Dear Friend of ADAC:
On Friday, October 20, 2006, the Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council of Orange County will hold its 21st Annual Service Award Dinner at The Gardens on Catlin Creek, Slate Hill, New York.
The 21st Annual Service Award will be presented to Dr. Dean Scher, Executive Director of Restorative Management Corp. Dr. Scher will be recognized for his continuous support and commitment to the field of alcoholism and substance abuse, along with the issues surrounding this disease.
On the same evening we will also be presenting Reverend George Doering with the Frances Sodrick Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is presented to an individual who has advocated for the establishment of policies and programs on behalf of those suffering the effects of alcoholism and drug addiction.
The problems related to substance abuse, misuse, and addictive diseases have a profound effect on our schools, communities, and our families. It is very rare today in our society that a family remains untouched by this problem. As our communities grow and the drugs of abuse become more and more available, it gets increasingly difficult to reduce risk and enhance protective factors in neighborhoods, schools and families.
As a private not-for-profit organization, we rely heavily on the support of the community we serve. We would like to offer you an opportunity to show your support of our Council by becoming a sponsor of our annual dinner. The funds raised through sponsorship are vital for the continuation of the Council’s critical missions, many of which are dependent on community support. A sponsorship agreement form is enclosed reflecting the costs and benefits of sponsorship.
You may also show your support by donating a door prize for our “silent auction”. In order to spark interest in the auction, we are hoping to receive items that have a minimum value of $25. Your gift donation and name will be on display at the dinner.
If you would like to attend our 21st Annual Service Award Dinner and are not on our mailing list, please contact Alex Quiles via phone at 845-294-9000 or email at adac@adacinfo.com
