TASC serves as a bridge between the criminal Justice system, the chemically dependent offender, and the treatment provider. Our goal is to promote recovery and a law-abiding lifestyle.
Since 1990 TASC has been serving persons who have alcohol or other substance abuse problems and are facing felony charges in the Criminal courts of Orange County. Because TASC is an alternative to incarceration program, our services are generally utilized at the pre-sentencing level. The mission of TASC is to participate in the justice system process as early as participating agencies permit. Participation in TASC is voluntary although referrals may come from Orange County Court, Probation, the District Attorney's office, the Department of Mental Health Forensic Clinic, NYS Division of Parole, the defense attorney, or a family member of friend.
