One of the goals of ADAC is to educate and provide the community with the resources it needs to combat the dangers of underage drinking and substance abuse. Some of the ways we do this is
through:
- Spearheading county and community substance abuse prevention coalitions
- Conducting county and local needs assessments and evaluating current prevention efforts
- Assisting communities to implement research-based prevention strategies, programs and activities that support the coalition framework
- Facilitating and combating underage drinking and engaging anti-drug use initiatives
- Workplace education and participation in health fairs and community events
- National Awareness Media Campaigns ~ Alcohol Awareness Month (April) ~ National Drug Addiction Recovery Month (September) ~ National Red Ribbon Campaign (October)
- Classroom and group presentations such as Media Literacy which empower the viewer to use their critical thinking skills when viewing media
