Mid Hudson Prevention Resource Center (MHPRC)

The Mid-Hudson Prevention Resource Center (MHPRC) was established in 2009 as an OASAS initiative to be an intermediary supplier of training and technical assistance to community coalitions across New York State.

Located at the Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Council of Orange County, the MHPRC serves Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland and Orange Counties.

What can the MHPRC do for you?

  • Consultation addressing the issues of substance abuse in community settings
  • Guide and assist community coalitions with the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) to increase the effectiveness of substance abuse prevention
  • Provide specific community coalition trainings on stages of the SPF, environmental strategies and evidence-based programs

When should a coalition call the MHPRC?

  • When members of your community feel substance abuse is prevalent in your area but do not know what to do about it.
  • When community members have already begun to take action against substance abuse but could use some guidance and technical assistance.
  • When coalition members could benefit from objective facilitation when working with the diverse sectors of your community.
  • When coalition members want to increase capacity and community participation.
  • When your community already has a successful coalition and would like to learn more about sustaining the positive impacts and outcomes.
  • When you want to connect to others in the field who may have additional resources.
